Mohanty’s Yogic Chicken

Every family has its own food profile and they recreate their own versions of certain worldly cuisine according to their taste-buds. In the case of my family, importance has now moved down in the hierarchy to match my son’s taste. His taste and fondness gets precedence these days, before anybody else’s. One of his favourite these days is some sort of chicken dish…which has no name…I have created at home…shall we call it may be... Mohanty’s Yogic Chicken… that’s because Yoga teaches us to do things in moderation and this particular dish uses all ingredients in moderation .

Ingredients (For Marinating)

  • 500g of Chicken thigh fillets
  • 4 tbsp Soya Sauce
  • 2 tbsp Tomato ketchup
  • 1 tbsp garlic flavour mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil for frying
  • Mix 500 grams of chicken thigh fillets with soya sauce, tomato ketchup, garlic flavour mayonnaise, honey, black pepper and vegetable oil. Leave these in the refrigerator overnight for at least 12 hours.

Ingredients (For Frying)

  • 4 tbsp vegetable oil for frying

Cooking Process:

  1. Put the oil into a frying pan over low heat
  2. Add the marinated chicken into the frying pan and fry for maximum 20 minutes, turning regularly to brown both sides. Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.
  3. Serve the chicken with some freshly boiled rice, garlic flavour mayonnaise, tomato ketchup and green salad.
