Technological advancement? What is the point in having them?

Shocking tales drip in blood and tears routinely from government hospitals and private clinics where human life and organs are freely traded with heartless brutality and impunity. India is rising….

News of child abuse in play schools is a daily dose too! There is neither fear nor remorse even when perpetrators of crime are arrested because bail is usually granted sooner than later and the litigation lingers for decades. India is rising….

Governance is now marred by rampant corruption, inefficiency and callousness with total absence of accountability almost all over the country. Fed up with a corrupt and callous system, people looking for alternatives under desperation have gradually drifted to the side of the insurgents. India is rising….

Starved farmers and dissatisfied soldiers are committing suicides as never before. Shopkeepers and small business concerns are buying security by employing private security guards. India is rising….

Victims of loot, molestation, rape, kidnap and perpetual harassment at the hands of outlaws have lost faith in the police and judiciary. They would rather negotiate and buy peace and, if possible, patronage of the hoodlums rather than face disdain and further exploitation at the police station. India is rising….

The gang rape of a hapless girl in a bus on busy roads of India’s capital city New Delhi on December 16 is just another slap on the face of Indian democracy. No wonder, rapists, kidnappers, murderers rule the roost while the law abiding citizens, especially women pray for safety and take it as a divine reward if they are back home safe at night . What an adventure! India is rising….

Technological advancement? Science? Power? Intelligence? Growth? Money? Military? Law? Where are they? When can they be used? What is the point then, in having them?

India has more than 50% of its population below the age of 25 and more than 65% below the age of 35. It is expected that, in 2020, the average age of an Indian will be 29 years, compared to 37 for China and 48 for Japan; and, by 2030, India's dependency ratio should be just over 0.4.

Rest of the world thinks it is to India’s advantage! And what do the advantages of India, think of themselves? They probably (not possibly) think they have plenty to blame: hanging Government, corruption, inefficient constitutional acts, poor law & order, infrastructure, snake-charmers, animals on the road, growth of call center and everything else.

Is it not fundamental that these issues; only exist in developing nations?

What is a DEVELOPED COUNTRY? Most commonly the criteria for evaluating the degree of economic development are gross domestic product (GDP), the per capita income, level of industrialization, amount of widespread infrastructure and general standard of living. Developed countries have post-industrial economies, meaning the service sector provides more wealth than the industrial sector.

Shall we expect all the above issues to go away completely, when India will become a DEVELOPED NATION one day? Countries such as USA, Japan, Germany, and UK must have graduated to their DEVELOPED status from DEVELOPING status, once upon a time. When they were with their DEVELOPING status, did they experience such issues as we are in India these days? Or we are facing more because of our large population?

Introducing Women's quota in the SERVICE sector; can not be the LONG-TERM SOLUTION for the extreme position of gender inequality, we have today. Likewise; epidemical issues such as corruption, immorality, crime etc can not be stopped through law and order. More long term approach is required, a parallel process!
